just got this pm, from a new member, checked profile, no posts from member
This is what Hilary Putnam said about dissidentphilosphy,
"I will be 83 at the end of this month.
But I am very pleased to hear about your group"
I started a little philosophy group in High School myself.
And I wish you wonderful discussions.
With warm regards,
Hilary Putnam"
Hi,
I'm Niki.
Me and my friends startted a philosophy discussion group almost six months ago. We've been working really hard to make a group with a mixture of philosophy students and real experts, and a few volatile young people who don't know anything about philosophy but seem interested or even passionate.
This is why I am contacting you, an invitation, we need a few serious and expert philosophers who can keep the overall academic standards up, and also some younger and and non-specialist members. We think both are important: students and teachers, and welcome the idea that who is who can be ambiguous. We want to have some serious philosophy -- and some serious fun.
MISSION
The values and goals of free-speech, creativity of message and medium, and being a place for a broad spectrum of out-siders to share their thoughts are in effect.
Dissident Philosophy Forum will encourage a warm and welcome atmosphere so that people with fresh and commonly misunderstood ideas can feel comfortable to participate.
Kind regards,
- Niki

@djjd62,
I got it as well.
Let me screencapture something first. There is a Russian address buried in the message that scares the living hell out me!
@djjd62,
I just received that one, too, djjd!
And was just about to ask what you're asking!
@tsarstepan,
Not saying that all Russians using the internet are hackers and identity thieves but since most online credit card theft comes from behind the former Iron Curtain, I'm pretty much on edge when I noticed ...
Have you reported it to the Help Desk?
@djjd62,
Geez, all of you please go to the Contact Us at the bottom of the page - it is the single fastest way to get to the administrators here.
@ehBeth,
How do you go about doing that?
For all we know, this Vana could be ... well... legitimate ... though my gut is telling me otherwise.
no, i'm so used to just hitting report, and of course that's not an option for pm's
@djjd62,
Perhaps a notification to A2K "management"?
Would that be via "contact us", at the bottom of the page?
@djjd62,
There are message numbers in the pms. I'd suggest using contact us - abuse - then posting the message # - and titling the report "spam".
The admins don't always come in to read threads, but I believe they do check in on the reports.

Robert's request that spam pms be reported.
@ehBeth,
I just sent a message via the Contact Us page - tagged towards - abuse and high priority.
@tsarstepan,
Good work, tsar!
I'm wondering if I should do it, too, or whether your report will suffice?
@tsarstepan,
i low balled mine, guess i should have gone higher, but oh well
@ehBeth,
Uh, what am I, chopped liver? : )
@msolga,
I wonder if
The Anti-Phishing Working Group would be interested in this potential new phishing tactic.
