I could eat really well on $25/day.

I've never been inside a Hooters, but it sure doesn't surprise me that the food isn't anything to write home about.

It just seems like such a sophomoric place. Like beavis and butt head would go there, saying "heh heh, heh heh, this place it called hooters"

@OmSigDAVID,
The one difference is - it is socially acceptable to leer at the girls at Hooters - on the beach you would probably get smacked.

I disagree.
When I was there no leering was going on,
nor was there any reason for leering.
Wearing short skirts is insignificant.

I wonder if dad wasn't using his kid to go checkout the headlights on Hooter's wait staff.

After all he's a single dad.

@OmSigDAVID,
Well he couldn't leave the kid home alone. He's only 11.

@Sglass,

To me, that seems odd:
from the time that I was 8,
I was alone at home most of the time.

I did not consider myself to have been.
I believed that I was ordinary.

I had food, cash, a house, a fone and a gun.
I thought thay were enuf until my parents got home around 8 or 9 PM.

@Gargamel,
OSD was born carrying a gun. Didn't you know that?

I think it would be good for an 11 yr old boy to see how his mum and sister support us.

I remember my 3rd birthday; my mother threw a party
that I remember, and the time that led up to that. During that time,
my eyes used to lock onto the revolvers of bank guards and police.
I remember imagining myself misappropriating not only those guns,
but the whole rig; holster n bandolier, but I did not have access
to guns for 5 more years, when we moved to Arizona, where thay were abundant

Wise move on your parents' part. 3 is way too young to own a gun. But when the baby teeth start to fall out, it's time to lock and load.
