The Christmas lights in Oxford Street, Regent Street and St Paul's have been switched on simultaneously for the first time - alongside the premiere of Disney's “A Christmas Carol” in Leicester Square.

Around here, they have gone from Halloween to Christmas in the ads. This despite the fact Thanksgiving is coming this month. I understand the need for profit, but I refuse to cut Thanksgiving out of the rotation.

@edgarblythe,
Ah yes, Edgar...

Thanksgiving. The day when folks sit down for a celebratory feast ...

at half time of the football game.

I admit I get totally annoyed with Christmas lights on right after halloween, but it is even worse to leave Xmas decorations way after valentines day and beyond. I think there should be nations wide city ordinances which say unless you can prove some kind of legitimate medical or other kind of hardship (which happend after you put them up in the first place), you have to take down your Xmas decorations by the tenth of January.
