chance and opportunity are synonym. But my teacher says usually we say make the best of every chance and make the most of every opportunity. Why is it so?
Can we say make the best of every opportunity?

Your teacher could be right, Adverb, or she/he may be wrong.

There's nothing grammatic or semantic that would prevent you from saying what you've suggested.

That's because one can create an opportunity but cannot create a chance..
