Context:
Hungary (Oct.10) -- A Chinese traveller was told that, when hotel clerk learned that he came from China, there iss a beauty spot which would catch his attention: Budapest Communist Park.

a hotel clerk... would be the right/correct choice.

Then again, the hotel clerk sounds like it would fit better in the context of the sentence.

I think u left out some words to express your idea.

Maybe:

When a hotel clerk learned that a traveller came from China,
the traveller was told that there is a beautiful spot which would
catch his attention: Budapest Communist Park.
