Should I use "would" instead of "will"?
Context:
He also predicated that the third quarter growth of China's GDP this year will be more than 8%.
@oristarA,
yeah...I'm not the best source, but I think both work
@oristarA,
Ori, those "rules" you were taught about reported speech were wrong. Pan has nailed it.
1. It's not "predicated", it's predicted.
2. I predict that the sun will rise tomorrow.
3. I predicted this morning that the sun will rise tomorrow.
4. Yesterday, Contrex predicted that the sun would rise today.
predicate; verb;. to proclaim; declare; affirm; assert.
I did write "predicted" in my mind, somehow it turned out to be "predicated" and sliped out of the scope of my monitoring..
