@Reyn,
Nope as discussed it's the Hospital Employees' Union, nothing to do with Sodexho, and not only that but way more money and benefits, plus way better working conditions than any of the jobs you've referred to so far.

Driver has already been mentioned.
Lots of companies need drivers to pick up parts and make deliveries. The other option is courier driver which often works on a contractor basis.

Security guard is another thought if you are willing to work off hours.

Hi, and thanks for posting your thoughts!

There have been a few security guard type job postings from time to time, but employers are asking for training (something called "BST classes"), or a license, and /or a security background.

In addition, it's my impression that when one is a security guard, one must be prepared for possible physical confrontation, and I would not do well in that department. I don't have the physique or the temperament for the work.

@Reyn,
Well, still no call back on the below job. Looking like it's another one down the tubes. Sad

Well, never heard back on the auto parts delivery job, but today I applied for a "General Labourer" position at a printing and sign business. It's full time.

@edgarblythe,
That would indeed be my hope, Edgar!

Maybe the print and sign business is the ticket, eh?

@Butrflynet,
Hi B_ !

Actually, that's one of the websites that I check at least 3 times a day (along with some others)! Laughing So, I would have looked at those jobs at one time or another.

As far as the greenhouse work is concerned, my wife says she doesn't think it's a great idea for me to work in one, due to exposure to chemicals, etc., and being a cancer survivor.

Thanks for your interests though!

I did apply for another job (in addition for waiting to hear about the print and sign job) today as a dishwasher in a local all day restraurant.

Basically, right now I'm looking for full time day work only. I want to maximize my time until I'm 65 (I'm currently 58).

I'm willing to look at something with close to full time (about 32 hours vs 40), if it's something that I feel I could stick with.

The current minimum wage here in British Columbia is $8 per hour (lowest in Canada). I'm hoping for a job that pays a wee bit higher ($9).
