I've had a weak achilles heel (left ankle) for a few months now. I think it started when I overstretched trying to do the splits. It generally feels weaker than my other ankle and as I am a kickboxer, my left kicks, all the time, feel as if they have no "snap". There's a big loss of power in my kicks. Also, it hurts when I point my toes towards the floor. Any help would be kindly regarded! Exercises for strengthening it or just telling me whats wrong!!
@StantonTaff,
Surely you know the answer -- ask your doctor.
@StantonTaff,
Welcome to A2K. If you are a kick boxer, you probably already know about rest, stretching and ibuprofen. Those work for me.
thanks for the replies! Yeah I should prob get it checked out but I have seen my local GP and she had no idea
. I ice it and I am taking Ibuprofen atm because I have a cracked rib!
@StantonTaff,
It might also be a bone spur, but there is nothing short of surgery for that, so stick with the rest and IB.
Ow re the cracked rib. Yep, ibuprofen, rest, ice. Could see an orthopedist if you like.
