Turning it around the other way,
if I coud travel back in time, I woud warn George Washington
to remain indoors at Mt. Vernon on December 12, 1799;
(he perished from the effects of exposure to inclement weather and medical mistakes)
and I 'd warn another American war hero, General Nathanael Greene,
to do the same on June 19, 1786; (he perished from sunstroke from overwork).
Any objections ?

They wouldn't heed your warnings,
b/c they both died on those days. Cycloptichorn
To me,
that seems like a
non-sequitur.
I am skeptical that the indicated cause necessarily
woud generate that effect.
Let 's consider it this way:
suppose that, true to my greedy nature,
I used time travel to financially enrich myself b4 anything else.
Then I go back to the early days, or middle times
of the American Revolution, when George Washington
was in dire financial need of cash to pay his army.
If I showed up with 20 pounds of gold in hand
and offered him the loan thereof on condition
that he remain indoors on December 12, 1799,
I suspect that he 'd look favorably upon the deal
and that he 'd be honorable enuf to keep his word,
thereby defeating the cause of his death.
I have had occasion to sit on his back porch,
looking down upon the Potomac River.
Its a very pleasant aspect; he deserved to enjoy it longer.
