When was the last time a no-hitter ended with the winning pitcher in the batter's box?
A dismal season for the Marlins but Alvarez gets a no-no on the last day.'

while we are stuck on the cubbies...

what exactly is it that makes Girardi leave the yankees circus to move home?

it's gonna take more than the absence of Sveum...

Miami Marlins selling unused tickets to Sunday’s no-hitter for $15 each

"How gloriously Marlins of them."

@Rockhead,
That's a scum organization...they'll probably sell off their hot young rookie pitchers...just like they're selling those unused tickets.

@panzade,
you have to wonder who sits with Loria at the owners meetings.

probably David Glass, just because he doesn't know any better...

Price! Complete game. WOW!
Here's a strange little factoid. Longoria has more home runs on the last day of the season than any player in history. 7
Second is Stan Musial with ....3

@panzade,

a gutsy performance on a night when the pen needed a night off.

i wonder if the return of cheater cruz messed with texas team chemistry?
they prolly shoulda followed the example set by SF last year (melky) and left him off the roster...

@Region Philbis,
Washington is a good guy but he got out-managed by Madden.
Starting a rookie pitcher was not a good idea.

@Ragman,
Well, we all know where RP's allegiance lies. The correct one being the Red Sox.

As the season continues, congratulations to Boston on their amazing turn-around from last year. Of course I can't root for them as I am a died in the wool Yankee fan (I still recall the first time I saw Whitey Ford. Sadly I never was able to get a Whitey Ford baseball card no matter how much Topp's gum I bought)
Somehow I always related to Charlie Brown in his quest for a Joe Shlabotnick card.
