@Region Philbis,
"Detroit shortstop Jose Iglesias, as he squared to attempt a bunt, was hit in the groin area by a Danny Duffy pitch leading off the third inning. Iglesias hobbled toward first base before collapsing in foul territory. He remained in the game after being attended to by trainer Kevin Rand and after he recovered..."

after last night's game, I hafta admit, I was ready for the young royals to tuck their tails and get run outta detroit.

nope...

Royals pitching held the Tigers to a run and six hits for the two games of the day night double header.

I think I believe now...

@Ticomaya,

105 sounds excessive when you consider --

Quote:
"I admitted I made a mistake. But I want people to understand one thing: I wasn't using a drug to
take advantage on the field, or be stronger or hit more home runs," Tejada said to Enrique Rojas
of ESPNdeportes.com from his home in Florida.

"I've been using it [Adderall] for the past five years and had medical permission from MLB. But my
last permit expired on April 15 and they didn't gave me another. I knew that I was in risk of breaking
the rules, but at the same time, I could not stop using the medicine because I suffer from ADD
[Attention Deficit Disorder]. It's not a vice, it is a disease."
(espn)

he should appeal, and if he does, i bet he'd get it reduced to a 50-gamer...

@Region Philbis,
Adderall is speed. The guy should have been maintaining keeping his script current. He legitimately needed the med. Under these circumstances, this is a gross over-reaction due to the commissar being a classic over-
compensator. ****, now if they go and take speed out of baseball ...then you're talking about a (needed) radical change. However, IMHO this business with Tejada's 105-game-suspension for Adderall will be overturned

FWIW, anyone remember the best selling book about NY Yankees and the state of baseball around 1970 called 'Ball Four' by former Yankee pitcher Jim Bouton? Oh what a stir he whipped up when he did a tell-all book about his team and baseball in general. He talked about greenies (amphetamines ) way back then. They used them liberally 43-44 yrs ago and it's been around MLB for that long.

Why is Schezer still pitching in the Det vs KC match? He was given a 6-0 lead, had a rough 7th inning (now 6-2), and is still in the game through 8...110 pitches. I would love to see him get the CG - he is on my fantasy team - but I'd settle for a W.

Fun little Sox Yankees match up.
If you're wondering if Dempsey has pluncked A-Rod?

He has

@Region Philbis,
Hmmm....I'm with Curt Schilling on this one.
If you're gonna make a statement by hitting A-Rod you do it on the first pitch.

If you miss, then it's bad on you and you let it go.

You don't hit him on the fourth pitch. That's why Girardi went ballistic.

@panzade,
Furthermore, what does hitting A-Fraud accomplish besides potentially fire up a sleepy Yankees team. Is Dempster going to hit all the players who are on the PED list? C'mon what the hell is this? Frontier justice?

Hey, Dempster ... here's a thought for 'ya to mull over: To get even ..why not try beating the team and keeping the ball in the ballpark when you pitch. It's not like you're setting the league on fire with your pitching.

Dodgers ran into a buzz saw last night.
Two Cuban sensations duked it out in Little Havana in front of a rowdy crowd of 27,000 Shocked
Rookie pitcher Jose Fernandez had no problem with Yasiel Puig and Stanton hit the obligatory big blast.

not only that, but he also stepped up, threw like an ace when his team really needed it, and saved the bullpen...
