Hi I work in a Montessori school in New Mexico and I am looking to translate a couple of names into Japanese for our Japan unit. The names are Ruby, Wesley, Andres, Amiriss, Corde, Debby and Sandy. Please help, I need them fast our unit ends soon and we wanted to do an art lesson with the names. THanks,

@debskylar,
Hi...

Do you mean "translation" or "transliteration"? Names don't generally have a translation for languages that don't have a common root. Except for Ruby and Sandy (which as common words can be translated) I doubt there are translations.

@Adanac,
For children, wouldn't it be 'Rubychan, etc.'?

I speak Japanese. I can help. For children the endings "chan" and "kun" may be used for girls and boys respectively.

Ruby - Rubi
Wesley - Uesuri
Andres - Anderesu
Amiriss - Amirisu
Corde - Korude
Debby - Debi
Sandy - Sande

These are foreign names so they will need to be written in Katakana.

Hope this helps
