Does it ever bother you that you are a stand-in for a desk accessory?

Well, he did pledge to create more jobs. He just never said they would make sense.

I'm not sure whether this is a step up, or a step down, from being a bookend.

@ossobuco,

These boots are made for walkin'.

Hmm, I might try to enter that last one of mine. I'd have to explain, of course, how I am the same person as ossobuco, a matter of rigamarole that has stopped me entering captions before.

Has anyone else here entered? I think some of our are captions are quite worthy..

I've not seen what R. Mankoff has to choose from and I think he has a good grasp of humor in its many manifestations, like him, read his blog, but I'm usually disappointed when I see the winners.

@ossobuco,
I wish you guys would enter. I'd like to see one of us win.
I don't even post the winners anymore; they seem pretty lame.

@panzade,
IMHO, there's at least 25% + of ours collectively are better than most of their winners of any given cartoon.

"It looks like Ted is out of gumballs. Meeting adjourned."

"I miss you, too, Aunt Maude, but we were hoping to speak with Mr. Jobs."

"What happened to your goldfish?"

I did chuckle at these...

@panzade,
Those were better finalists than most of their winners have been. Of course, that cartoon is ripe for the punchlines. Pretty funny punchline was the one with "Aunt Maude/ Mr. Jobs."

@panzade,
If nothing else it'll give us a sense of superiority. Maybe someone will feel riled enough to actually post some.
