And after the cubs were born, she said I was too bland and left me for this circus cat.

You don't know how good you've got it. After spending my day just sitting in a windowless box they call a cubical, I've got to go to this place where they have gift wrapped meat that I've got to pay for.

Uncle Leo has a gig on the Animal Planet and Grandma is featured on Wild Kingdom, but I'm hoping for leading mane movie roles.

It's not easy for a big cat to try to fit into a dog eat dog world.

I'm working as a waiter, but I'm hoping to get into the chorus of "The Lion King" on Broadway.

@firefly,
An aside, I love the drawing in this drawing (NYer used to call them that, maybe still does). Caged lion's face is terrific, and outside lion is very cool too.

I agree. Makes me wonder whether the artist drew it with a caption
of his own in mind.

@panzade,
Ok, that's good..

On the NYer, my subscription ran out in September, a bobble - and I haven't renewed yet though I will. Talk about deprivation for such as me. Still read the blogs and what full articles I can pick up but it ain't the same. In a way, the NYer raised me. I can remember not getting most of the cartoons when I was nine or ten.

@ossobuco,
My subscription continues through the good grace of my departed Mom. She left me something more dear to me than family jewels.
