Piffka -- are you really that organized that you could find a postcard from February in just a brief moment????? I'm impressed.

I have no desire to drive there. I have enough trouble here driving here on the right side. Sounds like they had fun tho. Have you ever been?

Hi chatoyant! Both are very nice (name and avatar.) What does your name mean, may I ask? I find myself thinking of a clairvoyant French cat... Wink

Hee, hee. Bandylu, I'm not sure that postcard was ever put away. Everybody liked it so much that it's been on the frig. for ages. I just took it down a couple of weeks ago!

Mikey -- I'm sure you'd do fine if you did drive.

I have never been. I wanted to go, but I wanted to go home more, last time I was in Britain. It was just after 9/11 and I was homesick. My daughter went to Ireland last November and she says she spent most of her time getting drunk in Dublin (she says its a blur & can't remember any specific names. All were fun and cheap and the people were great.) She did mention as she was just running out the door that she went to Wicklow (isn't that one of the places you're going?) and that it was beautiful.

Hi Chatoyant! Nice avatar, took me forever.

I don't think I'd argue with you about anything Sozobe after seeing your avatar lol...

I think Wicklow is on the east coast of Ire Piffka but I might be dead wrong. I hope to spend most of my time on the west coast.

When I hear Chatoyant, I think in terms of moonstone.

Lady and the Tramp, the first movie I saw, and my most beloved. How could I resist?

This is the closest there is to my pooch, a Retreiver. The look on the Basset's face is very familiar, as are the ears blowing back. Kinda endearing, I think, in Rupert.
My ears don't blow back, but I always love when his do-it must feel very nice!

May I add that Piffka's looks just like her? Or, at least, just like her aura!

Can't help but agree on Pifka's, Joan. Never saw her or heard her voice, but it is a perfect match-up.

"chatoyant", btw, means something like "glimmery"/"glittering" if I'm remembering correctly.

I've got green eyes, I love cats, and I especially love black leopards. How could I resist?

Joanie - Roger... I wish I were so elfin and demure, but thanks!

Bandylu - Your avatar is from Toy Story, right?

I found this cute website... but not your avatar... thought for sure it was Squeaky. I'll keep looking, meanwhile:

I thought one of those army guys from Toy Story would be a cute avatar for Craven... but I couldn't get the image to work.

Moonstone can be chatoyant. Hmmm, a clairvoyant French cat? Could be. Chatoyant means to change luster. The image in my mind is the eyes of a cat. Many things can be chatoyant. The moon, lakes, gems, even the inner soul. I like the word. I like the thought of it. And even though I haven't been around here for long, I like you people. Chatoyant. It's all around you.

Lovely image, chatoyant (not just the avatar, but what you wrote).

I have a question:

How do people feel if someone else uses their avatar? Is it a problem? No big deal? Something else? Inquiring minds want to know.

Oh, and New Haven, you still haven't answered your own question.

at most sites i've visited, avatars are not 'yours', so someone else using the same one is no biggie. It's a bit funny when 2 or 3 people with the same avatar are on the same thread, but not a problem.

if you've created your own avatar (i.e. photo of yourself or your dog or something like that), i don't think you'd want that to be shared.
