Hard to say, but he looks like he might be totally bald!

Well, I changed my avatar at the request of someone who was already using it and now the avatar I have possibly looks like Brunhilda and belongs on the prow of a Nordic ship. Now I don't know if Brunhilda is my alter-ego or not since I haven't seen any viking ships lurking around Hilo Bay.

Query, does anyone know where I can get a cute little picture of a hula girl and I'll teach you the "Hakala".

I saw some great hula girl postcards yesterday.

Can you go to Google images and find one? THen if you click the right button of your mouse, you'll get a list that includes properties... click that and there'll be URL listed. Sometimes those work. I think... the picture can't have too many bytes. Craven explains all this somewhere. There may be additional steps that I don't know about.

Hi lavadawn,

How 'bout this?

http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:ZfCbhbh3tUwC:www.aloha.com/~hvguides/HotPics

(I found some others but they didn't take when I tried to post 'em.)

If you see Craven, he has an "Avatar Tutorial" link in his sig.

Ooh, check this out!

(The file's too big, though.)

That hula one is waaay to big. I am learning animation right now so eventually I'll be able to help with those as well.

I chose my avatar because I have a little bit of an obsession with all things Poe.

Hi Piffka! I kept going back and changing it, sorry.

Do you mean my personal avatar (Rosie) or the first hula girl? I got 'em all off a Google image search -- it's useful because the thumbnails are often about the right size.

There are some that move, I think, but they have to be below 6K, and it's hard to find a file that moves and is that small. Misti has a butterfly that flutters, I think.

"A little bit", eh? Smile

My first avatar was the cross-eyed baby from the gallery -- it went with "Just Hatched" and I liked that it was cute but a little loopy. After complaints (evidently it gave some people a headache), and after I wasn't "Just Hatched" anymore, I tried to make an avatar out of something called a biswo basra that I like a lot -- it's a Sanskrit symbol that is supposed to "destroy ignorance." Woo-hoo! It didn't work, though.

I arrived at Rosie 'cause I wanted an actual person/ face rather than abstract symbol, and something Blatham said at some point made me think of her. I like how the way I cropped it makes it unclear if she's showing her muscles or making a rude gesture. Very Happy

Oh! Is that Rosie the Riveter??? SHe's riveting! I like the way she looks you right in the eye.

I think it would be cool to have one that moved for a second or two and then stopped. Just a quick little something that you have to quickly catch.

The hula girls are good too. I like the one that moves best. Seems like the epitome of hula girls.

Phx - Those are great! I like the top one best... I think because the shadow is so "authentic."

I ran across the image I used out on the net and it just struck me as a bit whimsical. The overalls and a bottle in the hand suit me! lol

I also had a bit of an on-going thing with Skwerl on Abuzz. He had mentioned "Betty, the Guy Walrus" a few times so I created an account on Abuzz with that name and started replying to his posts - just razzing him a bit. It was pretty funny so when I saw this I thought "Why not?"

(btw, ixnay on the Betty thing.. I don't think Skwerl ever figured out that it was me! lol)
