@George,
Sadly, George, my knowledge of Polish is limited to less than half a dozen words. Just keep saying "
dob-zheh" while nodding head up and down (it means, basically, "good") and it'll prob'ly fool everyone.
Apropos of Polish, it is the most exasperatingly difficult language to learn how to read and pronounce correctly. Whenever it was that the Poles decided to go with the Roman alphabet rather than the Cyrilic which is favoredf by most Slavic languages, they apparently also regularized spelling in what was intended to be, in some sense, phonetic. It is a nightmare for a non-Pole. Just one example: the Polish equivalent of my given name -- Andrew -- is Andrzej. Guess how that's pronounced.
Ahn-jay is about the closest Anglo phonetic I can come up with.
