if i get a 1099 form does the employer have to pay anything?

i might take a job where i recieve a 1099 and i want to know if the employer will have to pay anything other than my salary. would he pay unemployment or taxes on me?

No. 1099 "employees" are actually independent contractors responsible for both parts of their FICA payments and are not eligible for unemployment benefits.

Make sure you are truly employed as an independent contractor before you take on a 1099 agreement. Some employers try to hire workers under a 1099 when they are actually treating them as employees, not independent contractors. The IRS rules are explicit on who qualifies as an independent contractor and who doesn't.
