What does this sentence mean,pls?

"Your two best friends make the basketball team,and you're the last person cut...How might you react?" I don't understand what the word "cut "mean here.

It means you failed to make the team. If ten people try out and only five can make the team, the remaining five are "cut" by the coach.

"Cut" in this case just means you didn't make the team. So your two friends did, but you didn't, so how might you react?
