"Laughing like a parrot" is a line from The Merchant of Venice....where Sal is going on about how people act when they are happy or sad, or trying to hide the fact that they are either happy or sad....the line has been debated to death...but my own interpretation is that it means to "put on" a laugh....a little too much.....a fake laugh....to mimic a laugh....as LOL is used to mimic, or at least to represent a laugh, text wise....and often we really are not laughing out loud, when we use "lol" but simply amused....so anyway, I felt that it fit the subject of this thread perfectly.
Just so you know....and uh....well.....uh....LOL.
