Ok, just so this thread doesn't die, with me at the end sounding like something Tim Leary might utter during a bad...or good....I don't know, you children of the 60s figure that one out, and let the rest of us know....acid trip.

"Laughing like a parrot" is a line from The Merchant of Venice....where Sal is going on about how people act when they are happy or sad, or trying to hide the fact that they are either happy or sad....the line has been debated to death...but my own interpretation is that it means to "put on" a laugh....a little too much.....a fake laugh....to mimic a laugh....as LOL is used to mimic, or at least to represent a laugh, text wise....and often we really are not laughing out loud, when we use "lol" but simply amused....so anyway, I felt that it fit the subject of this thread perfectly.

Just so you know....and uh....well.....uh....LOL.

Bingo...ala Chris Farley....John Belushi....the funniest of us are often the ones in the most pain.....not to say that all 12 yr olds are borderline manic depressives with a heroin addiction lurking in the background because they overuse LOL....but they often seem that way.

12 yr old girls tend to be vera, vera silly....12 yr old boys tend to be as dumb as dirt....hormones are a bitch....LOL.
