The caring person will become a slave. A slave to the idea that the retards they care for would be good caring people if they had the ability. But in truth if they had the ability they would be (statistically) like the rest. And if they had more ability they would use the people under them.
That is the reality of mankind. So why do you live to serve people less then yourself?
I really do appreciate some of your concerns, like, for example, about those who:

Hi, candide. This reminds me of another thread going on with a gloomy view of humanity, at least as far as I've read. (It's Bear's What Do You Think of Humans thread - http://able2know.org/topic/130894-1).
Me, I always understand the pessimism, but it's too enshrouding, almost a cop out, a reason to close one's eyes and stop trying. Individuals of all sorts are capable of thoughts and acts of selflessness, creativity, and joy, however small and non-sustained. Sometimes those build.
