I'm taking a test and one of the questions has me stumped. It's one of those stupid questions where they give you five objects and you have to pick the one that doesn't belong. I'm usually pretty good at that particular type of test, but this one has really been driving me mad. Here it is...
Which of the following items does not belong?
Duck
Owl
Pheasant
Ashtray
Bluejay
I'm kind of leaning toward the owl, but I also can see the duck being a good choice. Any help?
It's the bluejay Gus! I'm sure glad you asked before you went and put your answer because you would have been wrong.

Ashtrays and pheasants and owls and ducks and aren't necessarily white or greyish!!!!!
An ashtray MIGHT be - but the rest aren't.

Maybe it's OWL. You could probably throw the others at someone, without great harm. I would not mess with an owl though!
You are all wrong .. the answer is DUCK because that is an action word. Has anyone ever dived for cover when any of the other words were yelled out? I think not!
Hmmm - in Australia, in the nesting season, you duck if someone yells "Magpie!!!"
It seemed significant at the time...mebbe you had to be there...

I cannot believe you cannot figure this out. the correct answer is duck. You have to analyze this in terms of relations.
A is Ashtray is a holding on to B which is Bluejay.
O is Owl is holding on to P which is Pheasant.
Duck is on his/her own.
