I wish I could get myself to eat healthy again. It's easy once your body grows a taste for it, but once I get a good helping of fried clogged arteries again.... all hell breaks loose. Smile

I should take up tea. Smile

The fruit smoothie and pizza slice weren't bad for ya. And BabyJoa will let you know if jalapenos are acceptable right quick. I'm not sure what a cheese stick is, so I'm not sure if that falls in the healthy or unhealthy category. Calcium is pretty important to you right now - though you've got to be a bit more cautious about things that might errr plug you up.

Baked eggs... enough for two people:

4 eggs mixed in mixing bowl

some leftovers -
a half of an already cooked chicken andouille sausage, sliced thin
about a fourth of a package of Spicy Indian Tofu, in small cubes
a couple of slices off of a ball of fresh mozzarella, cut into small cubes
a fistfull of chopped scallion greens

a tablespoon plus a bit - of a garlicky olive oil

and 6 half eggshells of water - that's probably equal to 6 tablespoons

All this mixed and poured into a glass pie dish and baked at
375 for about 40 minutes.

Deeeeelicious!

Tried something different today instead of the usual which is often times oatmeal. No, today I devoured an interesting spice muffin with almond slivers on the top. Delicious if I do say so, and I do. I followed that with a perfectly ripened banana and am now content and ready to face the remainder of the day.

Took in yogurt and a granola bar.

Was in the lounge making tea when Karen came running in. Karen's a co-op student, at the end of this placement. She muttered something about strawberries, and said I had to hurry to the admin area, then more muttering about melting strawberries.

Made my tea and headed over to admin - where a crowd was gathering. Karen brought in homemade peanut butter brownies, mini cheesecakes on oreo cookie bases, and chocolate-covered strawberries - that were melting.

Sweet <eye-squinting sweet> brownie bite, mini cheesecake, and two melting strawberries made for an interesting breakfast. Took a few more cups of tea than usual to get the sweet stuff down.

Nice young woman, our Karen.

Karen, give her a raise.

I had locally grown fat and juicy cherry tomatoes with torn up northcoast sweet french bread and some diced fresh local (not bufalo) mozzarella and a hank of torn fresh basil leaves and some of a longtime saved tiny souvenier of italy bottle of olive oil and garlic (cleaning out, cleaning out) and a fat dash of balsamico... and a tad of salt. Scraped the bowl clean...

It's about 9:30 and I just finished a boneless, skin on, chicken breast and salad. It was for my lunch...but three smokes and a pot of coffee didn't cut it this morning.

Tomatoes are great this time of year.

Fresh muskmelon.

I'm about to have a nectarine for my first morning snack. I'll have some blueberries later in the morning. I love this time of year.

For the last week and a half I was in northern Michigan. For breakfast each morning, we would have a piece of Howell Melon, a gigantic, super sweet cantaloupe, that typically costs under $2 - unreal. Can't get those in CA. Apparently this years dry midwestern weather produced huge, sweet melons of all types. Don't understand the correlation, but enjoyed the results.

Today I went slightly berserk and for breakfast I devoured a cheeseburger with extra mozzarella cheese and as strange as it may have seemed I asked for a side order of the onion rings. Calm down everyone I drank a diet dr.Pepper with it.
