Don't worry Lady J - the minute you're married, your
husband is going to look at you every morning with such sad
puppy eyes, you'll be glad to make him breakfast Wink

I actually had hot oatmeal with fruits for breakfast
and an espresso. I need tons of caffein in the morning.

The dreadful donut, sadly my last for another year or so, was a maple frosted buttermilk item, truly toooo sweet.

Bolo bao, a kind of Chinese pastry (sometimes called a "pineapple bun", tho there's no pineapple in it).
And coffee. That goes without saying.

Thanks, George. I might have overslept if you hadn't.

Cheerios mixed with Wheaties. Skim milk, a pear, some dark chocolate.

Smile Actually it might be the other way around for awhile until the novelty wears off. He says he can't wait to bring me breakfast! In bed too!
Ulterior motives, perhaps? Smile

I'm doing it right this morning. I'm gonna break down and have myself some good old fashion oatmeal methinks. Considering it's on 32 chilling degrees here right now and coffee alone may not cut it! So much for our warm California climate. Although it is probably even colder at osso's!

It's 49 degrees on my back porch right now. In the morning that is the slightly warmer side of the house.

And today, a piece of five seed bread toast and a cup of coffee with a smidge of chocolate milk in it.

I hasn't been mine. When the kids were young, we call cooked, then when they were off to college, nobody did. It was the restaurant for us on week ends and during the week, I didn't eat until lunch.

Now I'm here, I do it myself (not really) the easy way. This morning, I had a hard boiled (cold) egg and a piece of toast with boiled apricots (delicious, they have a natural sweetness), grapefruit (with salt, naughty me) and a glass of 3/4 V-8 and 1/4 lemon juice. And coffee to be sure.

Sometimes I cook, sometimes he does. I have a more established culinary repertoire, but he follows recipes very well. We take turns cleaning up after meals.

If I drank coffee, I'd need a sedative.

I am, at least sometimes, an adventurous cook, and my ex husband was (I don't think he cooks much now with the new wife) a superb natural cook, who over the years learned to orchestrate a whole meal for flavors that made a kind of music. We traded off, depending on who had time, and who ever cooked didn't have to do the dishes.

I love to make breakfast "stradas". Eggs and stale bread, cheese, and whatever you have stored in the fridge. You can make chiliquiles style with old tortillas and green chilies, italian with tomatoes, mozzarella, and some basil, cajun with some spicy sausage and seasonings...endless palate.

I like eggs.

Yes!
Before marriage, I got breakfast in bed.
After we were married I either made it myself or got nothing.
