Do any of you know or have friends, boyfriends, etc., that are in medical school?

Reason I ask this is because I believe that medical students are very dedicated to the work they do. In my personal experience they are also very passionate in their relationships with their girlfriends, etc. I would like to know who has had that marvelous privilige to know a medical student.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a marvelous privilege. I've known medical school students (and God I hope at least one of them never made it, or at least stopped drinking before starting practicing). They don't walk on water. Really.

@confused00000,
I have five doctors in my immediate family. I knew three of them when they were in medical school. I always remember them as being tired. They are all exceptionally intelligent. They all got married right out of medical school, all got divorced within five years and now two of them are married for a second time and one is probably never going to get married again (his divorce was a nightmare). I don't think there are any real statistics on this kind of stuff, so you can take if for what it's worth.

@confused00000,
My cousin is a doctor and yes, he was very dedicated to his work and still is.
I can't speak to how passionate his relationship to his girl friend was. He
married her while he was still in med school. She turned out to be the perfect
wife for him. Their marriage is going strong.

@confused00000,
I know a few med school students. One of them goes (or at least went) through girlfriends like towels, but is very hardworking study-wise. The others aren't in relationships.

@tarakesh,
I've known dozens of med students, interns, residents over the years, including one that I am reminded of now, a resident in renal immunology, a guy, korean, I say not to point to heritage but that he was engaged in perhaps outsider observation, who said in speaking of a person we both knew (and no, not a romance of mine) - osso, we're all social misfits.

Interesting world, but don't go making everybody - or even anybody - heroes.
