Well, maybe I'm working from the wrong title. Robert Loggia has a movie called Confidence, and Bette Davis made It's Love I'm After, but I can't find a Pryor movie with Have in the title. Isn't the song called I Have Confidence? Or am I all wrong?

Yeah, I was ready to give up on Henry Fonda/Ethan Hawke - what song were you thinking of? It must not be from Sound of Music... Laughing

Let me straighten out the mess I made here. Sorry for wasting your time.
Bette Davis - June Bride; Richard Pryor - Bustin' Loose; Robert Loggia - All Over Again

Fred Astaire - You'll Never Get Rich; Burt Lancaster - I Walk Alone

and I meant to add:

Henry Fonda - Mister Roberts; Ethan Hawke - Snow Falling on Cedars

OH MY! Honestly, I didn't spend that much time! I've been getting some work done too...

I was still plugging along and trying to make Sound of Music fit in, though... LaughingLaughingLaughingLaughing

I'm heading out to play in traffic now - and going to pick up my Girl Scout cookies from my niece, yum. Very Happy

Switching to Lerner and Loewe:

Alexandra Mazza/Peter Sellers/Mary Warren (I)

Joan Fontaine (very close to the title of the song - only one word off)

Winona Ryder/Claudette Colbert

And for bonus points, because this song's not on my original cast album (I still know all the words, though... Very Happy):

Barbara Mullen/Malcolm Keen (I)

To make this go a little faster, here's a hint about which musical:

Good Morning. I got the show without the pretty picture, but I'm stumped on a couple. But, here goes: Brigadoon
1. Almost Like Being In Love
I couldnt find an Alexandra, but I found an Alexander Mazza, and hope he'll do Very Happy : Almost
Peter Sellers - Being There
Mary Warren - In Love with Love

Joan Fontaine - From this Day Forward (On) (But I don't think this one is in the movie, so it's probably wrong)

Winona Ryder: Heathers
Claudette Colbert - Thunder on the Hill

Since Malcolm Keen played in Rob Roy, the Highland Rogue, I'll guess at Once in the Highlands, but Barbara Mullen has me stumped, unless it's Jeannie for I'll Go Home With Bonnie Jean.

The movie omitted There But for You Go I and Come to me, Bend to Me, but I can't get them out of the hints here.

Wow, good job! And I'm REALLY sorry - I'm much more familiar with the stage version than the soundtrack/film version.

There is a song called From This Day On in the stage version.

And yes, I meant to type Alexander, not Alexandra Mazza.

The bonus question is about a song called Jeannie's Packing Up - which is prob. not in the film, either!

SORRY! Sad

How can you say you are sorry after the mess I made yesterday, Mac? Laughing I don't have Jeannie's Packing Up on my CD. I love From This Day On. (that's how I got that one). And I was really upset when they left There But for You Go I and Come To Me, Bend To Me out of the movie.

I thought of another Rogers/Hammerstein (I sure hope I didn't ask it before):

1. Peter O'Toole/Andy Garcia

2. Molly Ringwald/Annette Dionne/Jackie Cooper

3. Jean Simmons/Robert Mitchum

I guess I need a hint on the film. Confused I've looked at the various actors' credits, and I've studied the soundtrack listings of The King and I, Carousel, The Sound of Music, State Fair, Flower Drum Song, and Pal Joey. Help? Please? I'm sure I've left one out...

No. You got the right musical, Mac. The Sound of Music is right. Probably the toughest is Jean Simmons and Robert Mitchum.

Hint: O'Toole played a fading matinee idol.

Ringwald reaches a certain age.

Simmons is at the fair.

It's one of my all-time favorites!

O'Toole/Garcia: My Favorite Year - Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead

Ringwald/Dionne/Cooper: Sixteen Candles - Going On Two - Seventeen

Simmons/Mitchum: So Long at the Fair - Farewell, My Lovely
