It is on my list now, Joeblow - thanks - I've always been interested in stories set in Africa. What a beautiful country.

Hey Endy...

I loved Kes - I was a wee girl when I saw the movie and too young to understand it. Then I saw it when I was a little older. I named a "pretend" boyfried "Kes" - so, I guess I'm in the freaky club too mate.

The film has great meaning as I got older - which I reckon you understand my angle. My son tried to help an injured buzzard, he was heartbroken when we couldn't make it better. Our next door neighbour had a buzzard too.. I have a photo I will scan taken outside our old house. Beautiful birds of prey - tho the world sees them differently too.

Good to see ya Endy. x

Thanks for that Izzie - i spend a lot of time watching buzzards. At least your boy tried, eh? I understand how affecting the film is. I was eleven when i first watched it. Straight away i got a razor blade and scratched KES on my forearm!! (not deep enough to scar or anything) - I'm a big fan of the director of the film Ken Loach - i think he has been under-credited as an artist.
Hey - i'd love to see those photos - sometime when you are feeling like it
Thanks again

@Endymion,
Hey Endy

So ... here's is the buzzard!

Handsome fella a?

A friend of mine has a peregrine falcon - he got him when I was in the US in the summer and called him IKE after the hurricane. Such beautiful birds...

@Izzie,
wow Izzie - they are both fantastic!
I'm more familiar with the buzzard of course. It's a strange feeling to be out, sitting down somewhere and then to see them high up in the distance , circling towards you - to hear them calling to each other...it always calms something inside me - but can make me feel sad as well. I'm sure you know what i'm meaning.
Cold tonight BBrrrrrr
There is a severe weather warning here (heavy rain)

Take care, won't you

I have some more of these strange freak poems to put up
(take no notice)

Freak (4)

Speak freak
Or forever hold thy piece
Speak anger speak rage speak
Laughter speak pain
Pour out the vicious shout
Attack then take it back into the tender part
Of your broken heart
Again
And let it burn to dust gone by
Speak grief
Speak eye to blackened eye
Speak what thee must, freak
Speak line to line
Speak razor cheap like red wine seeps
Speak deep the crime
Speak ancient rhymes like bygone times
And pour the truth of emptiness into thy youth
