Okay, this is a one-sentence thread, so just post a sentence starting with the phrase..."A true friend is..."
I'll start.
A true friend is a mythical creature that only saps, poets and teenage girls believe in.
@kickycan,
A true friend is whomever you feel you can be loving and loyal toward no matter what they do or what happens- someone whom your mind remembers though you've never seen them before - I've had about four in my life- and find myself meeting more and more the older and wiser I grow.
(one sentence - I followed the rules of grammar - MY rules of grammar anyway- I believe in dashes)
you will find that true friend (or not) when a rattlesnake bites you on your ass.
@dyslexia,
yeah -that's the test (figuratively) and I guess I have....that's how I found out they were true friends
funny how when you believe in people - they often turn out to be worthy of your belief (or at least I've been lucky enough to have had that be MY experience - yours may certainly be different- who can say?)
@aidan,
a true friend is anything that howls barks and walks on four legs.
@OGIONIK,
A true friend is someone who will hand you the gun when you need to kill some sonofabitch who just cut you off in traffic.
A true friend will tell you when you have a visible bugger.
@martybarker,
A true friend will tell you if your ass really does look big in those jeans.
a true friend is better than family, because they have no reason to be such...
..a real pain in the ass.
Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
A true friend is someone who accepts you with all your "warts and pimples."
@dyslexia,
A true friend will tell you when you are behaving like an ass hole---because they care about you.
BBB
a true friend would be called ratzenhofer if he gives you his favorite sheep
A true friend has got your back. Always.
A true friend is hard to find.
@eoe,
hard to replace:
a customer came in and we started talking and I asked him if he was enjoying the fall/winter and looking forward to Christmas and he explained that this year had been difficult as his wife has been bed-ridden for the past 9 months and confined to a nursing home. He visited her every day - and I commented to him that I found that extremely loyal and commendable, and he said: (and I quote)
'She was my pal....she was my best friend...'
