Quote:What's the significance of comminion?
comminion/communion
The wine represents “the forgiveness of sins” (Christ Jesus’ spiritual, sinless, incorruptible nature born within us.) and the bread represents “physical healing to the body."
Is it damnation to eat the bread not knowing what it stands for? Is it damnation not to correctly teach the "true" meaning of the bread and/or wine? Well it is certainly not going to "help" if one eats something in a holy ritual and is not instructed of its actual purpose... Yet, that is what usually happens.
Communion is symbolic of the holy spirit "gift" and wisdom from God.
Communion is a reminder of our righteousness, sanctification, redemption, justification, and the ministry of reconciliation. This spiritual birth is the "new" body, soul and spirit of Christ Jesus within.
Jesus Christ taught communion to his disciples to foreshadow the coming of the holy spirit on the “day of Pentecost.”
Thus communion is to "remind" us of the REALITY and presence of God, in Christ, within us.
We may not "remember" all the time... but we are instructed "not to forget" what was wrought at Calvary on the cross.
Psalms 103:2 KJV
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and
forget not all his benefits:
Corinthians 5:17 KJV
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away ; behold , all things are become new.
18.And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19.To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself,
not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20.Now then we are
ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21.For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;
that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
