David Kochel, Romney Adviser, Supports Gay Marriage: 'We've Got To Start To Modernize'
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/30/david-kochel-gay-marriage-romney-adviser_n_2582565.html

I am glad some of the Republicans are coming around as some Republicans like our former senator Olympia Snowe of Maine have supported marriage equality all along. But for the most part my message to the Republican party is "Too little too late..."

@RexRed,
Quote:
In 2011 Gove planned to provide each school in the United Kingdom with a copy of the King James Bible, each inscribed "presented by the Secretary of State for Education" (although Gove was unaware of this until he saw the first bible), to celebrate the 400th anniversary of its translation into English. Gove described the King James as "the most important book in the English language" and insisted that every student should have the opportunity to appreciate its literary riches. The project ran into difficulty when the education secretary was required to find private funding to complete it. Private sponsors paid for the Bibles, which were distributed in June 2012. The Guardian quoted unnamed head teachers as being critical of the project, but the initiative did receive support from across the spectrum, including from Richard Dawkins.

Yes indeed!

France's lower house of parliament, in a 329-to-229 sweeping vote, approved a bill to legalize gay marriage and allow same-sex couples to adopt children.

France is now on track to join about a dozen mostly European nations that allow gay marriage and comes despite a string of recent demonstrations by opponents of the so-called "marriage for all" bill. http://huff.to/X2wokw

Miss. Newspaper's Coverage of Lesbian Wedding Sparks Outrage and Owner's Kick-Ass Reply
http://www.shewired.com/soapbox/2013/02/20/miss-newspapers-coverage-lesbian-wedding-sparks-outrage-and-owners-kick-ass-reply

Awesome response and kudos to the reporters, editor and paper's owners for standing up to such intolerance.

Excerpt:
And to those claiming they didn't want their children to see a story about a lesbian couple on their local newspaper? Cegielski shuts them down with a word: "Ugh."

"We have stories about child molesters, murders and all kinds of viscous, barbaric acts of evil committed by heinous criminals on our front page," continues the owner, "and yet we never receive a call from anyone saying 'I don't need my children reading this.' Never. Ever. However, a story about two women exchanging marriage vows and we get swamped with people worried about their children."

@RexRed,
How do you feel about portman's recant Rex? I wasn't impressed that the only way he could 'see through fresh eyes' was because his son came out. That's like a character flaw to me, especially when your older have had a lot more experience. Good on him I guess, but my initial reaction was 'A group of people don't deserve a set of rights until one of my loved ones becomes part of that group? Well done you.' Harsh?

@hingehead,
Are you as tough on yourself hinge?

Often times it requires a personal connection to prompt a new way of thinking.

Not everyone comes to the truth right out of the womb, or through yoga and a vegan meal plan.
