@JPB,
It's not bad so far. Economic stories from regular Americans interspersed with Obama directly talking to the camera about his plans.

@Cycloptichorn,
It's basically an infomercial. I tend not to watch those, whether they're selling Ginsu kitchen knives or a political candidate.

@Cycloptichorn,
You realize, of course, that they're actually delaying the start of the World Series game because this ad is taking up the network time.

Actually, they are not. They are pre-empting the pre-game show, which was scheduled to run in the time slot. The first pitch for the game will be at most a minute or two later than it would have originally.

Fox had the choice whether to run the ad and take the money, or not. They certainly weren't forced to delay the game. They chose to do so.

I watched. I expected to hate it. I didn't. It made me cry when he spoke about his mother. I was already voting for him, but now I really feel connected to him on the issues. I hope he can succeed with his agenda considering the mess he will be inheriting.

@Cycloptichorn,
Watched it. Was happy with it.

Not sure if the live portion packed as much of a punch as they wanted, and he was looking in the wrong camera.

Overall pretty good though I think. Nice combo of specifics and uplift.

I'm a little worried about the Merry Andrew take, have seen that a lot (though Cycloptichorn is right).

It was pretty good.

The reason you have heard the other take on the World Series thing, is b/c the right wing has repeated it endlessly - same way they did the 'columns' thing at his speech, which weren't columns at all.

Nope, didn't watch it. Already know what it contains. I'll see it more than enough on youtube and news reports.

I thought it was well done though.

@dyslexia,
I wouldn't care if Elvis Presley was speaking on TV. Nothing, absolutely nothing, would take me away from "Law & Order"! Laughing

it was a nice piece. well done.

i don't think it's meant to do much of anything for people who are already planning to vote for him, though.

Hard to imagine how it might have been done better. I thought it was brilliant in style and in content. We'll see if that wobbly middle wobbles as intended but I'd be very surprised if it doesn't.

A bright move, I thought, was to end it off with a push for volunteers.
