What kind of variety show is the standup monologue? Is it a monologue given by a single person, or by more than one comedians? What does "standup" mean?

@fansy,
"Standup comedy" is where a comedian stands up on a stage and talks to the audience.

"Monologue" means one person is speaking.

A standup comedy show is usually a series of standup comedians performing monologues. Sometimes a show will be a single performer, however.
