In 2007, as in years past, Right-to-Carry states had lower violent crime rates, on average, compared to the rest of the country with total violent crime lower by 24 percent, murder by 28 percent, robbery by 50 percent, and aggravated assault by 11 percent. Further, in 2007, 32 percent of murders were committed without firearms of any sort--knives accounted for 12 percent, hands and feet six percent, and blunt objects four percent. Rifles and shotguns (semi-automatic and otherwise) accounted for three percent each, and typically "assault weapons" have accounted for about one percent.

Death of MLK and JFK
the people who project intollerance in the name of freedom of speech and indiviual security are non-christians.

I know some of the members are highly qualified to type flowery English about the indispensablity of possesing a WMD..
USA has gote more WMD and the best country with high statistics behind the bar( Imprisoned).
The whole world is without drinking water and a normal bread.
But in USA the song is different.

@Ramafuchs,
Ramafuchsoff - you confuse the object with the criminal.

I can kill you with a cast stone. Should we ban stones?

When alcohol Prohibition was repealed in 1933,
did the rate of stolen booze increase ?

Anyway : WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE ?

When the future victims are well armed in their own defense,
it is a lot more dangerous for violent predatory criminals to make a living.

If Gandhi had been better armed (maybe a nice submachinegun)
he might be around today.

Being unarmed almost = suicide

@joefromchicago,

I saw a piece on the History Channel a few nites ago,
wherein Brigham Young sent Mormons to massacer
the wealthy Fancher Party Wagontrain that was crossing Utah.

Accordingly, on Sept. 11, 1857,
thay massacered the Fancher Wagontrain that was crossing Utah;
killed every man, woman and child,
(except a few children below the age of 8, who were put in a separate wagon).

However, before the murders were COMPLETED,
the Mormon leader John D. Lee had a peace conference
with the Fancher Wagontrain leaders promising
and convincing them that if thay surrendered their guns,
thay 'd be peacefully escorted out of Utah.

The Fancher Party all surrendered their guns,
whereupon (when the Fanchers coud not fight back)
Lee commanded the Mormons to "do your duty"
and the massacer was carried out.

The moral of the story is:
if someone demands that u surrender your gun,
that is when u need it MOST.
