@Mame,
You said "a Field's"? Is that Marshall Field's? Can't be. Didn't Macy's buy them all?

@eoe,
No, here in Canada it's just Field's which is crap. You know, worse than Walmart. Cheap, cheap, cheap and depressing. Like a mini dept store.

ehBeth, the only store open in that pathetic mall is the one on the extreme left, across from the red car - it's a bakery. The defunct Tattoo parlour is closed, as are all the other stores! waah.

@Reyn,
HA ha ha - not even funny! Yes, it's horribly boring. I'm reduced to watching tv, for heaven's sake! And talking to YOU, of course.

@dadpad,
Oy, I'm only here for 2 weeks and leave next Tuesday! lol

But they don't have a food bank, anyway, I checked. Or any of the other things. I think it's gonna be the tv and crosswords, but thanks for your efforts.

@Mame,
Who is Alex?

Yeah, it's about time that you're heading back to civilization. Hopefully
you won't take on another one of these thankless cook jobs, Mame.
Go and open yourself a little bistro - with your cooking skills, you'll be a hit
in no time!

@CalamityJane,
No, CJ, I'm in Cache Creek visiting Alex (someone I started seeing) and I'm going back to camp for another 4 - 6 weeks. Then I'm done.

They're not all thankless but this one is very dysfunctional. I feel contaminated.

Who needs a bookstore with Amazon and Half. com. ?

I like the idea of writing a memoir. I think your grandchildren will appreciate it one day.

Maybe do a few Edward Hopper style paintings, it looks like that kind of town.
