@A Lone Voice,
A response I can appreciate...thanks.
I have nothing against the free market. But I also have nothing against government intervention and government regulation if it can be demonstrated that the long term benefit of intervention and/or regulation benefits the company, the consumer and the country.

As we have seen with the Wall Street collapse, it's not just the corporation that will fold. The entire nation feels a really sharp, swift, kick in the nuts when this happens. It really shouldn't be like this, IMO.

@candidone1,
Forget pigs and lipstick "
the candidates are focused on what the Wall Street Journal calls the "Worst Crisis Since '30s, With No End Yet in Sight." As traders watch Washington Mutual Bank, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, John McCain is calling for the firing of the SEC chairman. Barack Obama - ahead by a statistically insignificant hair in Gallup and New York Times/CBS News polls " is attacking McCain's economic record and a survey shows many are unconvinced either man would bring needed reforms to Wall Street

@candidone1,
What the Republicans keep on insisting is free markets is not about the free market. It is about financial safety and product reliability. The product just happens to be a financial product. If it is meat you want it to meet nutritional standards i.e. it is edible and free of pathogens and other defects. The Wall Street manipulators just want to do away with their product quality and safety. It shows how disrespectful they are of the public.
