I have COPD. I take Spiriva, Singulair, and Advair daily. Spiriva is a life saver. I'm glad that dys finally got an accurate diagnosis and can be treated. Eat, kiddo. Feel better. Get strong. And official welcome to the community of wheezers.
FAB FAB FAB news Dys - not that I like you of course - Lady Diane (can still hear your voice) it's made my day reading the cowboy is feeling better - so pleased for you both.... here's to "energy". x
Diane- I am so glad that the doctor has gotten to the bottom of things. If he is going to be taking prednisone for any length of time, he needs to take calcium. Prednisone tends to remove calcium from bones. Now Dys is not exactly fat, and osteoporosis is more common with thin people, so between the medication, and his frame, he needs to be careful.
In addition to taking calcium by mouth, ask the doctor about calcitonin-salmon. It is available in a nose spray, and potentiates the absorption of calcium. It is typically given to postmenopausal women, but is also given to men at risk for osteoporosis.
We were chatting (Abletono) when he popped in and said he'd missed his appt. and I'm afraid I was a little stern with him. Glad he made it, and glad the news is good. A diagnosis + meds that work is fab.
Happy, Bob, as you know, that you are getting treatment, and happy, Diane, for you, that Bob is getting treatment. Even happy for Sally, Dante, and Fred.
The title of this thread scared me, but I guess it is good news to have the correct diagnosis. I trust that dyslexia and diane will be able to follow the treatment. (Diane just had that big problem with her gall bladder.)
