I think he's taking a break more than anything else. Probably has a boatload of family stuff -- I think one child (two?) is/are coming home for the holidays. Must be lotsa prep work going on at chez George.

Actually, the whole clan went to Montreal to visit with Nigel for T-Day and the
weekend. Frigid, but fun.

I agree. Those two Vikings players who have avoided suspension for so long will be suspended effective Sunday.

Alex, Ragman, and I are the only ones to pick Detroit.

@Ragman,
I can see picking Detroit. I'm pretty sullen about Minnesota. I find it odd how one, well.. me, just plain likes some teams better.

I am going with:
San Diego
Tennessee
Chicago
Minnesota (Detroit? Come on, you folks ain't real)
Green Bay
Indy
Atlanta (I am tired of wrongly picking NO)
NY Giants
Buffalo (let it snow in Buffalo this weekend)
Denver
NY Jets
New England
Arizona
Pittsburgh (see note below)
Baltimore
Carolina (toss-up)
38-31

The Steelers are a good December team. They killed the Patriots last week and in Sunday's match up against the Dallas Thugs should do okay.
I heard today that Art Rooney, the owner of the Steelers, may have worked out a deal with his bickering sons that will result in the family not having to sell the team. The son who might control the club shares his dad's philosophy. That would be good.
The nice-young-man-Plaxico was a Steeler until Art Rooney recognized him as a liability despite his on-field talent. That has happened with other Steelers. Good on him.

@CowDoc,
Cowdoc: the last few picks (before the Carolina/TB game) aren't clear which team you picked.
