Good afternoon. It looks like this is going to shape up to be an exciting end to Week #13. Miz Cowdoc is 11-4 and has JAX tonight (24-20). She wins if JAX wins. BUT! At 10-5 and picking Houston are Foxfyre (21-10), ElStud (31-24), Region (35-28), Ragman (21-20), Cowdoc (24-20) and Ehbeth (14-10). Jespah is at 10-5 also and has JAX so she is out of the picture.
By my calculations, if HO wins the total points tiebreaker will work out like this:
27 or fewer points will result in a win for Ehbeth;
28-35 gives the week to Foxfyre;
37 -42 turns the week over to Ragman;
43-49 ends up in a tie beween the Cowdocs; to be broken by moving to the 2nd tiebreaker;
50-58 bodes well for ElStud;
60 or more would be delightful for Region.
A final point scoring of exactly 36 sends Foxfyre and Ragman to the 2nd tiebreaker as does a total of 59, which would lead to same result for ElStud and Region.
I am reasonably sure I have done the math right. No guarantees, though.

You may not need the tiebreaker. They vowed to share everything when they got married. Smile

Well thanks for trying to make me feel better, but the odds are overwhelming that you're going to win this week. I had a shot until George's Berriam had a stellar night last night and it's pretty certain that it's out of reach for me this week.

I do have fun with it though. I thrive on pity.

10-0 Houston at the half. Looking good for Ehbeth and Foxfyre.

(As a total aside, on NPR's All Thing's Considered program this evening was a long report about the "student protests" in Mexico in 1968. I was in VN at the time and never knew about this. I would appreciate it if Fbaezer, Pantalones et al could comment on that report or that time, after this week of football ends.)
Thank you.

@ossobuco,
Thank you, jo. I will go there rather than expect a response here. This was an entire story I knew nothing about.
You know something? The whole moon-landing thing was not noticed by many of us in VN! We really knew little about it until Armstrong showed up with Bob Hope at Christmas time.

Another good week for us as a group, with a few of us dragging things down.

Question. Are we as a group getting any smarter - at least as measured by our collective winning percentage?
Week #1: .580
Week #2: .531
Week #3: .603
Week #4: .517
Week #5: .617
Week #6: .507 (except for Cowdoc we stank)
Week #7: .633
Week #8: .592
Week #9: .596
Week #10: .747
Week #11: .707
Week #12: .637
Week #13: .622
Season to date: .612

The Houston win last night left 7 players tied at 11-5. 7 of 'em: Foxfyre, ElStud, Region, Ragman, Cowdoc, Ehbeth and Miz Cowdoc. Well done. 47 points were scored in the Monday Night game which eliminated everyone but the Cowdoc's (each of whom had a predicted final score of 24-20=44). I had to again go to which of the two did worse in Week #12. On that basis, Miz Cowdoc (9-7) wins this week vs Cowdoc (10-6). Congratulations.
A bunch of folks did well, coming in at 10-6: McGentrix, Osso, Edgar, Tico, Jespah and Wandejw. Realjohnboy, Rockhead, Fbaezer and Alex pulled our average down, finishing at 9-7. Imur and Mysteryman limped in at 8-8.

The standings after 13 weeks:

1) Ragman (.681 winning %) (1st last week)
2) Cowdoc (.655) (2nd)
3) ElStud (.644) (3rd)
4) Fbaezer (.634) (3rd)
4) Wandeljw (.634) (5th)
6) Osso (.629) (6th)
6) McGentrix (.629) (6th)
8) Ehbeth (.623) (11th)
9) RealJohnBoy (.618) (8th)
10) Edgar (.616) (8th)
11) Jespah (.613) (12th)
11) Imur (.613) (8th)
13) Tico (.600) (13th)
14) Foxfyre (.587) (15th)
15) Rockhead (.585) (14th)
16) Miz Cowdoc (.583) (16th)
17) Region (.582) (18th)
18) Alex (.572) (16th)
19) George (.535) (19th)
20) Mysteryman (.532) (19th)

The best ESPN picker is at .657 which would be good for 2nd place. The worst has a .587 which would tie him with Foxfyre at 14th.
Ehbeth climbs another 3 spots (after 2 the week before). She is on a roll. Imur took the biggest tumble: down 3.

The Miami @ Buffalo game sent me to Google. Here is a list of teams that play in domed stadiums: Atlanta, Houston, New Orleans, St Louis, Detroit, Minnesota, Arizona and Indianapolis. Teams which play in domed stadiums fare worse statistically in play-off games than teams which don't.
