@realjohnboy,
thanks, RJB. Even if I guess this one wrong I won't feel too badly. Not a fan of McNabb, or better put, his current longevity picture with Philly and their chances of a wild card spot.

Sorry, RJB, I was trying to alter my pattern of posting in the anterior Philbis positon...

GP Owls tried to hide the fact that the lost their two big running backs to season ending injuries in the previous game, and were unsuccessful.

They fell 45 - 25 to the Arch rival Conway Springs boys. (already beaten soundly this year)

on to NFL...

DET
JAX
CHI
BUF
MIA
NYJ
BAL
DAL
DEN
NYG
CAR
IND

GB 31 ~ 27

Congratulations to the lads from Salmon, Idaho. I was hoping to hear from Rockhead about the adventures of the Grand Plain Owls in Kansas. But, as usual, RH delays posting his picks until the last minute just to annoy me. George has also gone missing this week. I note that he as not been on A2K since the 13th. I have some queries out on him.
We are off to a good start. Everyone had the Steelers. We all have Washington over Seattle. There are 4 games in which one of us sees something the rest of us don't. Miz Cowdoc likes Detroit over Tampa Bay; Jespah alone sees Chicago falling to St Louis; Mysteryman thinks SF can take down Dallas and Jespah also forecasts that Oakland will upset Denver.
The games that divide us most evenly are MN @ JAX (10-8 in favor of JAX); NE @ MI (10 votes for NE vs 8 for MI) and CA @ AT (11-7 in favor of CA).
See yall here around 4:30!

@Rockhead,
Fine, fine, just fine, RH. But I have you skipping Houston @ Cleveland and Washington @ Seattle.

Oh, yes. I must note that Wandeljw and Alex disagree with the majority on just one game. A bunch of us are at 2. At the other extreme are Tico and Mysteryman with an I-am-going-to-be-right-and-yall-are-going-to-be-wrong score of 8.

The early games are over. Out come the high-lighters. Red is bad. Blue is good. With 10 games decided, Edgar and ehbeth have just one miscue each. McGentrix, ElStud, Region and Ragman have 2 each. Four of us, including Johnboy, have been wrong 5 times.

@Region Philbis,
Indeed. The surprisingly excellent performances have been exceeded only by some surprising underperformances, notably especially by several on my fantasy football team.

All in all I think I'm some better than my 50-50 record this week though, but the tarot cards aren't quite getting it done either.

Next week: fish entrails

I looked at the amount of red ink on this week's scorecard ant thought this might be one of our poorer weeks as a group. A few players roses above mediocrity to perhaps salvage the week for the rest of us.

A victory by GB tonight's game would help our average as we are 13-6 in picking them. But we are not in this for group scoring.
Here is how Week #12 is set up for the finish. Pretty interesting. Edgar (with a tiebreaker of 44) has 3 losses this week as do Ragman (51 points) and Ehbeth (27). If Green Bay wins, Ehbeth wins the the week if total points are 35 or fewer. Edgar controls the 36-47 range and Ragman is hoping for 48 or more.
To complicate things, Region has 4 miscues and is the only folks with 4 to have New Orleans. A victory by him ties him. He sees 51 points, just like Ragman and, wait there is more, they both project a final score of 27-24! If total points is at least 48 they will have to go to tiebreaker 3. I forget what that is. I think it might be total points by the home team. I could be wrong, though.
Back with the final finish Tuesday afternoon.

Thank you for qualifying your statement about a GB victory, realjohnboy. Although I am fond of our A2K picks group, I personally would prefer to see GB lose tonight. Smile

@realjohnboy,
yes, RJB. I recall you stating that final tiebreaker scenario as the one who comes the closest to guessing the hometeam score would win.

Some pretty interesting games and results in week #12. NY Jets and Farvre sure made believers out of the Jets-doubters.

Titans got knocked off their perch pretty soundly. Not exactly sure what to think of them now as compared against the top 4 teams.

As I expected, Philly is not a playoff team and now McNabb is on his way out of Philly, to boot.

Cassell seems highly clearly focused and playing for a starting postion somewere, though with Brady's return, that may be up for grabs to the highest bidding team. Doubt they would want to pay upwards of $8m - $10m to him versus shoring up the aging defense.

@realjohnboy,
Oops..we (region and I) would have a log-jam problem, in that case.
I didn't notice before that we had picked the same tiebreaker score. That was an oversight. So for this week, if Region and I tie (resulting from a NO win), then I hereby change my score to 28-24. Does that work?
