Back from my weekly poker game. Its 4am, 1-2 hours later then I normally get back. It was quite a night, let me tell ya.
One guy lost $40 in ~10min, on essentially 2 hands. First one he had AsKs. Flop comes 2 kings, and a spade. Turn and river are spades. So he starts with top trips, and by the river ends up with the nut flush. The other guy had K9, so also started with top trips, but was outkicked. River was a 9, giving him the boat.
The second hand wasn't quite as crazy, but he had top pair and flush draw on flop, the other guy rivered 2 pair to beat him.
I was on fire tonight, though. Big blind special gave me a truck driver (T4) and I flopped quad 4s. The guy with top boat on the board ended up giving me about 30 bucks. Later on in the night, I got quad sevens, and that time made about 20 on them.
I was getting good cards, but once my chipstack was up, I started working on bluffing alot more. I'm proud of myself, think I made some very good plays. I left with $160, 4 times my buy in. With the cards I was getting it would have been hard for me to lose money. However I feel like my 'average' play would have gotten me $80-100, but because I was playing well also, and making some plays, I really maximized my income.
@Nick Ashley,
It's always nice to get hit by the deck. Sounds like a lot of fun!
@Nick Ashley,
So, any of you guys ever bump into my old aquaintance who now goes by the name "Pete Fowler"? He was a heroin junkie and the son of a prominent businessman where I grew up. He finally kicked his habit - and took up gambling....
@Nick Ashley,
Is any of this in English?
@cjhsa,
I doubt it, but if I did I probably still wouldn't know because I don't pay attention to who's who at the poker table.
@cjhsa,
I rarely play in casinos like Robert does. I can tell ya he isn't in my local home game!
@Nick Ashley,
first time i played table poker, 4th hand i got quad 10's.
funny watching all the old timer ass poker players , from the mob days and ****, like who is this kid?
lol, beginners luck.
they shortly thereafter took all my money.
