Random Facebookness:

I posted something about how I managed to get through the first 30 years of my life without air conditioning, but I'm pretty happy to have it now. First response was from my next-door neighbor from age 5 to 12 or so (my age), who also didn't have air conditioning at the time, and talking about how it seemed much more bearable back then.

@sozobe,
It DID! Seem more bearable. I dont mean it was ok, but we bore it.

What's with that?

@dlowan,
Just plain hotter, I think.

We probably were better able to acclimate too because there wasn't as much air conditioning just in general. My parent's car didn't have a/c, and I don't think it was really standard for stores to have a/c. Some did, but it wasn't just baseline.

But also just plain hotter.

@sozobe,
Never had it in Germany, still not using it except in the car.

It's beneficial for advertisers.

@Setanta,
It's really not so bad, considering we are merchandise, not customers.

I think Isabela is a shill for facebook. Her post reads like a line from a promotional brochure.

That’s true!

We also find out what’s going on in town via facebook, but we know too many people in this town and all of them are on facebook. I tend to stay away because it can also be a lot of drama in a small community.

@jcboy,
And it's changing to the point that most of the folks I know have very little to say other than sharing prefabricated quips and e-cards that I don't read.

@JPB,
I wouldn't be able to manage my scheduling for dance-related things without facebook. It is soooo much easier to co-ordinate things involving 100+ people now.

@ehBeth,
I'm in a couple groups there that work well. The home page is mostly filled with cards and quips.

I think it's a secret group. I'm not aware of it. Maybe CJ could pm the particulars?
