I have a feeling that you are not eligible for membership in this clique due to your political views.

Have fun hanging with the cool kids then....I avoided them groups as a kid and never regretted it. I cant imagine playing these kinds of games at my age, and as a socialist they run contrary to my core political beliefs.

@CalamityJane,
He's not on my a2k friends list only because the people on that were put there in the first place because I was concerned about missing their posts -
I see most of Tico's posts and like him. Of course, we differ on this and that. I think he is one of the most genuinely courteous people on the planet.

It turned out that I don't use the friends system - if I miss someone, I know how to search. At best, looking occasionally at my profile, usually to change a signature, leads me to remember people.

Big oops, you are all talking about Facebook.

Pardon me - but I'll leave it because I'll leave my opinion.

@ossobuco,
I'm posting since I think it is time I got into Facebook, despite my misgivings.
Given I do, I'll need advice.

@ossobuco,
Start with getting a bogus email account at yahoo.com or gmail.com
to use for Facebook, osso. If you use your regular email, Facebook is sending email requests to everyone whose on your email account, it's best not to use it.
So make one as ossobuco @ yahoo.com or so, then sign up at Facebook.
Once you did all that, send me a message.

@CalamityJane,
Thanks, oooooooh, worry.

I'm not propelled to get to facebook to talk with a2kers, though I get there is a lot going on there and I would probably like it, generally speaking. I'm interested in being there under my actual name, and not having that somehow invaded, and then maybe connecting re a2k too, as ossobuco. Two accounts, I guess. The whole friends thing and who to shut out? cripes, do I need more of that re a2k? Sounds like a big task, part of my avoidance of dealing with FB. I could learn.

My actual name, using a short version, is out there by many others. The fuller name is more pinpointy, slightly more scary. Someone might not have not liked some landscaping twenty years ago. We don't carry errors and omission into eternity but you are suable all the way, including your estate if you have one - last I heard. This gets more and more unlikely, for me, but in both of my fields, medicine and architecture, there was a lot of suing going on, and small land arch firms often went bare. When we didn't go bare, re work with the state, the insurance was wildly high and short term. You were dead if you didn't keep it up.
Prices rise and it is generally about insurance.

I've never been sued, we did good work.

@ossobuco,
This seems more paranoid to me now, especially as I am a turnip re suing.
But, worry perseveres.

@ossobuco,
really? a2k vs fb? There is no difference kinda. It is a matter of control or false thinking of control from what I have seen.

Well, I had a Facebook account for quite some time, but did nothing much with it until about a couple of weeks ago, and I'm quite enjoying it.

My initial thoughts about FB were negative, but now that I know a lot more, I'm actually quite impressed, re the amount of customisation and settings available.

Stuff can be deleted / undone, not like here.

And if you're having any problems with individuals, that can be accounted for, too.

I hope you make the jump. If you do, please consider sending me a friend request! Very Happy

@Reyn,
Thanks, Reyn.

I just don't trust that I (sometime goofus) can get the set up, under my real name.
