That is why NATO invoked their mutual defense clause and is helping us there.

The mutual defense clause was invoked because "it was determined that the attack was directed from abroad", and because the United States had provided ''clear and compelling proof'' that al Qaeda was behind the attacks.

Of course, al Qaeda operating from Afghanistan and being supported by the Taliban, Afghanistan was the target of the NATO mission.

That doesn't mean that the clause was invoked because "Afghanistan had bombed the twin towers." That's nonsense.

Depends on the reasons.

In the case of Kosovo, the two main reasons were taking Chinagate and Juanita Broaddrick off the front pages of American newspapers.

Iraq?

Iraq? Saddam Hussein poisoned the US Senate Office Building with anthrax and he had fifty body doubles. The likelihood of getting rid of him short of invading the place was zero.

It is unfortunate that such an occurrence happened under the watch of Dubya. Anyone else would have reacted in a efficient and prudent manner.

I despise that clown.

What about the countries you have bombed, since 1960 say? (there are many)
Should they exterminate you?

The WTC attack was an intentional attack on civilians. That makes it a lot worse than any bombing the US has done in the past hundred years.

I noticed, but I don't accept that the premise of the trick is valid.

As far as I'm concerned, Afghanistan is responsible for 9/11.

The Taliban was the government of Afghanistan.

The Taliban were (and are) closely allied with al-Qa'ida. They supported al-Qa'ida both before and after the 9/11 attacks.

In my view that makes the Taliban fully culpable for the 9/11 attacks.

I'd have launched nukes at Afghan population centers the moment the first tower collapsed. What would you have done differently?
