Has REDUCING DIET become an outdated term?

I have been reading a LOT here about good food, condiments, and really good recipes and information. But what I was looking for--- I don't see in any ot the topics; and that is 'a successful method of weight loss' for anyone--- that tastes good and does not starve them TOO much.
I'd like meal plan ideas if anyone is interested, NOT a general suggestion-- of GO ON THE ATKINS
GO ON THE SOUTH BEACH
JUST COUNT CARBS.
GO LO-FAT AND SUGARFREE.
(none of it is very appealing is it?)

@theollady,
A very long thread with some good diet advice is under "Teen Diet". It was aimed at teenagers looking to lose weight, but I think the advice and links would be appropriate for anyone. Here is the thread: http://able2know.org/topic/35752-1

You might have to cut and past the link or search "teen diet".
