As I see it, there is an obvious choice for the ultimate high-pressure job ever devised by the mind of man and only one of the plausible VP candidates for John McCain has ever held that position, and that candidate to me is the obvious choice.
The job was (it no longer exists) wishbone quarterback; the candidate is J.C. Watts. This one is simple: no other plausible pubbie candidate for VP can operate the wishbone.
@H2O MAN,
Just once in my life have I ever seen a situation where an amateur version of a major sport outgrew the pro version and that was more like the Bama version of the wishbone than the Okie version, but J.C. had more than sufficient skills to play for Bryant. In my judgment, if Bear Bryant had ever had the opportunity to coach a college all-star team against the superbowl winner as had been a tradition in the 60s, the NFL could easily have been seriously embarassed.
