How much damage can the Democrats do to this country in just 4 years?

Can our Republic survive long enough to see another Regan like revolution in 2012?

I usually don't join politics threads but your Chicken Little impression is intriguing.

I suppose he could start an unnecessary war, put torture on the menu, spy on our citizens and watch our economy crumble while leaving massive debt for our grandkids.

Would that make you happy?

Seriously, why are you so afraid of Obama?

Losing my house because taxes skyrocket forcing my employer to reduce the workforce?

Weakening the military back to the Clinton era.

Making weak attempts of peace with opponents and weaking our strong ties with allies.

Just the first things that come to mind.

@McGentrix,
Fair enough.

Do you think we should have to pay for the things we buy?

The military thing is interesting. I'm going to talk to my brother about that. He's been in the army for 30 years and I'm not sure he'd agree with you. Is our military really stronger or just bigger?

If he makes weak attempts at peace he won't get anywhere. Are our ties with allies still strong?

I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything but I'm very curious about why some people are so anti-Obama. I knew people who were anti-Bush when he first was nominated 8 years ago but nothing like this. It's interesting.

I suppose he could run from a necessary battle in a much larger war leaving the door wide
open for others to torture & spy on our citizens while ruining our economy at the same time.

Would that make you happy?

@H2O MAN,
I never said that I intend to vote for Obama.

And no, it wouldn't make me happy. But it is really just your specualtion and you haven't really shown yourself to be very rational about Obama.

@boomerang,
I have no intention to vote for either of them, I'm just wondering if our country can survive four years of Obama rule.

@H2O MAN,
H2O MAN, I gave you a thumbs up so your thread is only -11 now instead of -12. Hang in there, McCain is in a virtual dead heat with Obama, and for the first time in months, I am beginning to feel it in my bones that Obama is going to lose. Do you ever get those feelings that just seem to evolve within? One sign that Obama is beginning to lose is he is beginning to attack McCain alot more, and I think this may be a desperate attempt to reverse the tide that is beginning to turn.

Alot will depend upon the vp candidates and if Obama's convention gives him a bump. If it isn't a bump, he could be toast. His candidacy is based on largely emotion, emotion that runs wide but not very deep, so if the flow of emotion begins to dry up, his support could melt in a very big way. On the other hand, if the convention stokes it all back into a big fire, it could burn hot enough to get him elected. If he wins, I predict it won't be by much.

Thanks Okie Cool

I am getting the same feelings... what kind of damage do you think Obama can do in four short years?

@McGentrix,
A Democratic Controlled Congress and White House, made up of the current cast of clowns, would certainly raise taxes to a point of crushing the economy and the workforce.

There would also be no useful energy programs put forward further weakening our defense.

Well none of that is good for the country especially if Mrs. Bill Clinton is Obama's VP.

National security a disaster, I think the terrorists will use the opportunity to reorganize, and Israel will be a big target. They know Obama is probably just a talker, and they know he secretly sympathizes with anti-American sentiment. A general weakening in our influence around the world.

The economy, higher taxes, more government boondoggles funded by confiscated profits from profitable companies. Pull your money from oil stocks if you think Obama is going to get elected.

More socialistic programs, youth corps, you name it.

Supreme court, look for more disastrous appointees, as some old libs are merely waiting to resign during a Democrat presidency.

The one hope I have is that if Obama is elected, once he actually takes the oath, some things will dawn on him, as to the awesome responsibility he has. He is extremely difficult to predict, he is an unknown quantity, you might as well elect the guy down the street a couple of blocks, there is no way to know what he will do. I can hope for the best, but my instincts tell me he could be worse than we even think.

I understand Obama's #1 achievement thus far is beating Mrs. Bill Clinton.

A president Obama is in for a rude awakening at his very first security briefing, I bet he smokes three packs of cigarettes if that day comes.

@H2O MAN,
Yes, and although I have never drank or smoked, I might be in danger of taking up the habits as well, if he wins. I've heard they will calm nerves.

His vp selection, one of the biggest decisions hes ever made, and oh I hope it is Biden. Wouldn't that be fun?

He can't be serious about Biden? It has to be somebody else.

Hey, even if Obama wins, I don't see it as the end of the world. Republicans need a wake up call, especially on their spending habits (not that Obama will slow it down any). Instead Republicans need a good thrashing to return to their roots of fiscal responsibility, strong leadership, and less government.

I think Obama represents a Jimmy Carter second term and like the fate of the good peanut farmer, Obama will never see his own second term. The most troublesome outcome of an Obama presidency is the lost opportunity to further shift the Supreme Court to the right.
