@in god we trust ,
we are all suppose to have sinful souls at birth, that´s what baptism is about, cleaning the childs soul... so if i´m a baptized lesbian, what does it says about that sacrament of yours?
@Johnjohnjohn,
so being heterosexual is all in your head too?
@Johnjohnjohn,
i hate to break this news for you: there´s no father up there taking care of you, you are not going to be rewarded as a small child is rewarded when behaving properly, there´s not a heaven waiting for you when you die because you are not an special being above all animals and beings around you. you are mere mortal being, not better than any other. Grow up as all kids do a become an adult, assume you´ll die one day and that would be not a relevant event for the universe
@Woman4Christ,
one question: how sex between two consenting adults has you so worked up when thousands of cases of child abuse at a priest hands are being confirm to be true nowadays? i think that would make any rational adult to being doubting what they have been taught by the Catholic Empire and be a little more cautious when defending some of their believes
@worldtraveler24,
who is without sin cast the first stone
yeeeesss, he was so disgusted by sex urges that saved a prostitute from being stoned to dead
@worldtraveler24,
i enjoy what god gave me.. i enjoy food, water, laughter and sex.... all of that i enjoy with measure, respect and happiness... your body is the instrument given to take care of your brain, to make it healthier and richer..... denying the pleasures it can give to you its meaningless and disrespects god´s gift
Something to consider is what Jesus view was of this lifestyle. Many people often will make the statement that Jesus never said anything against homosexuality. But that is not necessarily true. How do we know, well, lets begin by considering his famous sermon on the mount recorded at Matthew chapter 5.
At Matthew 5:17 he says: "Do not think I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I came, not to destroy, but to fulfill. 18 Truly I say to you that sooner would heaven and earth pass away than for one smallest letter or one stroke of a letter to pass away from the Law until all things take place."
After saying this he makes this statement in verse 21 "you heard that it was said." By saying this Jesus was making it clear that he was talking to a people who regularly heard the law read in the synagog. So these people knew the law well. Now it is in verses 21 and 22 that Jesus first references what the law says about adultery and then elevates it to a principle in verse 22 stating that to even look at a woman so as to have a passion for her has already commited adultery with her in his heart as far as God is concerned, even though the person has not engaged in the actual act.
Now, being a masterful teacher, Jesus knew that as he sited and qouted the Mosaic law, that people would naturally remember other parts of the law that they have heard read in the synagog. In particular would they be reminded of what is said at Leviticus 18 starting in verse 6 onward. Naturally what is said at verse 22 would be brought to mind where the text says: "22 “‘You must not lie down with a male in the same way that you lie down with a woman. It is a detestable act."
Really, Jesus was highlighting that if a person took the time to know what the Bible really teaches, they would understand what his position was on various matters, making it uncecessary for him to have make a statement on every issue. But that he did not support homosexuality is made clear by what his disciples were inspired to write in the New Testament. Please carefully consider the following texts: 1 Corinthians 6:9,10; Romans 1:27; 1 Timothy 1:9,10
So really the Scriptures are very clear. from the time of Moses up to and beyond when Jesus taught the truth, the practice of homosexuality has always been condemned in the Bible. What we see taking place in many so called Christian organizations today is what God's Word said would happen during the time of the end where he states at Romans 1:25 "They exchanged the truth of God for the lie and venerated and rendered sacred service to the creation rather than the Creator, who is praised forever. Amen."
Yes, many have exchanged the truth for the lie.
@anthony1312002,
It would be appropriate to note that it is not same sex attractions that are sinful, for many of us struggle with gender dysphoria and similar issues. It is homosexual
behavior that is forbidden. It is very possible for heterosexual couples to engage in homosexual behavior. Think about it.
@neologist,
That is true, many do struggle with this. And this is primarily because of what Adam, Eve and the devil forced upon the human family when they rebelled and threw us into an imperfect condition which has in turn negatively affected every aspect of human physiology. But if a person is sincere in their efforts to rein in such improper impulses, the Creator will hear them and help them to exercise self control.
@anthony1312002,
omg! do you really believe adam and eve existed? i mean you believe the whole humanity were the offspring of just one couple created from mud? oh man! that´s just sad
@momoends,
momoends wrote:. . . you believe the whole humanity were the offspring of just one couple . . .
That's interesting. How many couples do you suppose there were?
@neologist,
are you kidding me?! ok so lets say it was just the two of them and had... what 20 daughters and sons (they live till 40 back them)... what happened next: brothers and sisters got married and had sex so they could populate the world? aren´t incest a capital sin?
@momoends,
Why would you be concerned about incest?
Birth defects?
Wouldn't natural selection weed those misfortunate ones from the gene pool?
