Let me ask the obvious question: Who cares?

The majority of Americans support socialist programs- from universal health care to affirmative action programs to investments in education.

If we want to democratically elect a "socialist" president (not that Obama exactly fits the bill which is why many real socialists supported other candidates in the primary), what's the big deal?

We will elect the president that we choose to lead the country. We had choices in the primaries, and we have choices in the general election.

It appears that we are going to choose Obama.

A majority of Americans will elect Obama... whether Obama is really a socialist is apparently up for debate (I would prefer a true socialist).

We can't afford socialism. We've spent all our tax money on nation building in Iraq. I hope the Iraqi people enjoy their new roads, schools and hospitals. I assume they will, as soon as the opposition stops blowing them up as fast as we rebuild them.

The majority of Americans will end up dying broke in charity nursing homes when their retirement savings run out and their illnesses demand more care than they can afford. The next generation of American children will inherit nothing but debts. This time in history will be known as The Bush Legacy.
