I dislocated my shoulder three times and was asking my doctor a very similar question. He said surgery may be necessary but gave me an exercize to perform to help strengthen and retighten the muscle(s) surrounding the socket.

Very simply, stand next to a wall that you can reach with your outstretched arm and walk your fingers up and down the wall as far as you can go. Repeat it ad naseum. This is really a painless process and helped me greatly. Fifteen years has passed since the last dislocation.

BTW, isn't a shoulder dislocation painful? No wonder it was used as a torture technique.

I never discussed the cost regarding surgery--can't help you there.

My three dislocations weren't the result of feverish masturbation. It was more like frantic.

One other thing you can do is keep it very warm and slather a generic non-prescription lotion on it.

That's for the frantic masturbation, not the dislocated shoulder.

A co-worker and my nephew both had the same problem. My nephew would simply wake up in the middle of the night with it dislocated. They both required surgery.

My nephew however failed to follow through with his post op physical therapy so he just had surgery number 2.

So, have you seen your doctor about this before? Do you have health insurance or a job that will allow for the time off with proper recovery time?

Don't you think it might be time to have it looked at?
