This would be a contemptuous or sarcastic statement. The emphasis would be placed on the word "you."

The meaning is that you are not, in fact, a good teacher.

I not a grammarian, but "You are." seems to have a subject "You" and a verb "are" so that is a sentence. The addition Some Teacher is a modifier, but I couldn't for the life of me tell you conclusively whether it is modifying the verb (adverb) or the subject (adjective)--but intuition tells me that it is the subject.

"The meaning?" Off hand it sounds sarcastic, so depending upon inflection is is either a positive or negative statement.

Hmmmm......I guess it is grammatical, but I leave this to more grammatical minds.



It means "You are a bad teacher!"


It is ironical, as the actual words might suggest that one is praising the teacher, but the meaning is the opposite.

It is a colloquial phrase...and you can substitute almost any occupation/relationship for "teacher", to imply the same badness.


Some son you are!


Some student you are!


Some plumber you are!


Some husband/wife you are!

It is colloquial, spoken English.
